Janmashtami Celebration |
Janmashtami is celebrated as the birthday of Lord Krishna, one of the most powerful and famous reincarnations of Lord Vishnu. To seek the blessings of Lord Krishna, Janmashtami was celebrated at Jaypee Vidya Mandir, Chandpur with joy. To celebrate the extraordinary bond between children and the Almighty JVM took the opportunity to celebrate, with different joyful activities and dance performances. It was an auspicious day in the school. The students, dressed up as lord Krishna, Radha and Gopikas, complete with flutes, peacock feathers and matkas.The celebration started with one of the devotional songs (Achyutam Keshvam…..), presented by small kids. After this song, one play was enacted on stage, in which students beautifully depicted Lord Krishna’s childhood mischievous activities of Makhan Chori, from Gopies Matki. By a short play, the small kids depicted a scene of complaint of Lord Krishna to Mother Yasoda. Class VII student highlighted the major facts of Lord Krishna’s life, by her short speech. Krishna and Sudama Milan, was performed so beautifully by a group of primary section students, conveying message about true friendship and love. Senior students enchanted Geeta Shloks and presented their meaning in Hindi. Finally, in ‘Dahi Handi’breaking celebration, the students from different classes participated, formed a pyramid and broke the ‘Handi’ in jubilation. At last, school principal, R.D. Sharma, extended his good wishes to all the students and teachers for Lord Krishna’s Birthday and told to follow the lessons from Lord Krishna’s teachings. His words truly summed up the efficacy of celebrating the festivals of devotion. The involvement of the students and the teachers, in the celebration, was worth applauding.
